Asics Quickwalk 2

Asics Shoes
75
Overall

Pros

  • Short break in period
  • Comfortable gel cushioning
  • Inexpensive

Cons

  • Insoles are not removeable
  • This pair might run a bit small (size up)

This shoe is made for people with normal pronation or light supination. The Asics Gel technology offers good cushioning. My only complaint: The sizing is a bit off. Make sure to order one size bigger!

About the company

Asics was started way back in 1949 by a Japanese shoe-maker named Kihachiro Onitsuka. Mr. Kihachiro started off by selling basketball shoes from his own house. From such humble beginnings to the multi-billion dollar company that it is today, Asics has indeed come a long way.

ASICS stands for โ€˜Anima Sana In Corpore Sanoโ€™ which in Latin means โ€˜A Sound Mind in a Sound Bodyโ€™. With such an inspiring motto as the companyโ€™s backbone, it is no wonder that this athletic shoe manufacturing company is now one of the biggest brands in the sports world.

Asics focuses on athletic shoes and apparels which are โ€˜performance drivenโ€™ and also offer the highest levels of comfort to any athlete. The Asics walking shoes were created with the intention of touching the lives of non-athletes who are also fitness-conscious and take their morning walk very seriously.

Asics have come up with an innovative GEL-based technology for the rear sole which gives walkers the perfect cushioning for their heels. Your heels strike the ground first when you walk and Asics has hit the nail on the head with their gel-based rear-sole.
